This effort is key to our core value of Speed to Innovation, by making it easy to create and maintain the right content to inform those working to extend and improve the largest streaming music service in the U.S.
We’re actively seeking someone who brings a unique background and perspectives, and appreciates the varied set of needs embodied in our diverse employee community.Responsibilities:
Determine the best tools and practices to create, organize, maintain, and access documentation for code, product specs, processes, teams, and projects. Develop training content and monitoring procedures to ensure effective utilization. This includes, but is not limited to:
Written documentation, ideally leveraging embedded documentation in code
Crowd-sourced question-and-answer repository
Searchable video presentation archive
Develop taxonomies for organizing information.
Create methods for identifying and eliminating duplication, flagging obsolete content, and measuring completeness and currency of documentation so we can track our performance.
Oversee the work of tech writers as needed.
Requirements:
This position requires strong leadership abilities, including the skill to present proposals with pros and cons to decision-makers, work with the management team to roll out and implement change, and evangelize the benefits of good documentation practices.
Experience creating and working with internal knowledge repositories, and familiarity with current tools in the market that might be appropriate parts of the solution.
Broad conceptual knowledge of technologies such as mobile apps, web apps, back-end services and APIs, analytics, data science, and media streaming. You won’t be the content expert, but you’ll need to be able to understand the elements of our systems to effectively create taxonomies and organize information.
Experience working through the adoption and use cycle of a large internal documentation enhancement project. Demonstrated success evangelizing and managing through change.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Detail oriented, thorough, keen eye for information structure and presentation, and an ability to find simple ways to present complex information.
