Auditions for Singers
San Francisco Gay Mens’ Chorus
The SFGMC was founded during the Gay Rights Movement, which rose to national prominence after the Stonewall Riots in New York in 1969. Founded by gay music pioneer Jon Reed Sims, for 40 years, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus has served as an international standard bearer for a blend of extraordinary musical excellence and mission-driven activism. Founded in 1978, The group does not require that members identify as gay or bisexual. SFGMC was the first choral organization to courageously proclaim its orientation in its name and is credited with helping start the LGBTQ choral movement that now spans the entire globe, galvanizing and changing the course of LGBT history. www.sfgmc.org
