OPERATIONS ASSISTANT 

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Status: Seasonal Volunteer

Schedule: 8-16/hr per week, June-September

This hands-on position is central to Festival planning, operational flow, and internal communications. You will assist the Operations Manager in coordinating Festival materials, equipment, donations, ticketing, venues, and general events management. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how the West Coast's leading destination for environmental film programs operates behind the scenes, and gain firsthand experience with management, operations, and event coordination. 

This position is suited for someone adaptable, resourceful, thorough, and reliable. You should be comfortable liaising with vendors, assisting with daily festival operations, and technical troubleshooting as needed. 

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANTS

Reports to: Communications & Marketing Manager
Job Status: Seasonal Volunteer
Schedule: 8-16/hr per week, May-September


This is your chance to use your creative and digital skills as a part of our communications campaign for Green Film Fest 2019. You’ll be central to growing audience reach and impact for San Francisco’s leading environmental arts event. Help us craft our marketing message as part of a team dedicated to on-point postings, engagement through all of our online communication channels, and real-time social coverage of Festival events. 

You will be involved in every part of our online marketing from snappy blog pieces to simple yet stylish social posts. You will be central to real-time coverage of Festival events including filmmaker Q&A's, panel discussions, and all of our dynamic Festival events. You’ll assist our Communications Team with marketing campaigns for our website, blog, newsletter, publicity, promotions, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. You should have good writing skills, strong knowledge of social media platforms, basic graphic design skills, some knowledge of publications tools, and a willingness to jump in and learn.

PUBLICATIONS ASSISTANT

Reports to: CEO
Job Status: Seasonal Volunteer
Schedule: 8-16/hr per week, June-August

Here you will learn a lot about all the films and guests, as well as the publishing process. You will be gathering information on the all films, filmmakers & guests for use in our printed program, website, and other Festival communications.

You will be supporting the Programming & Communications teams with research, data entry and proof reading. You should be happy at a computer and know some PhotoShop or similar photo editing skills. If you are also deadly accurate and have stamina for lots of detailed info we would love to hear from you.

YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Reports to: CEO
Job Status: Seasonal Volunteer
Schedule: 8-16/hr per week, August-September

You'll be helping to inspire the next generation of environmental advocates & activists by encouraging participation in our free Schools programs. You'll be working with local schools, youth and environmental groups to get the word out and invite participation at the Festival. This is an opportunity to learn more about engaging young people through the Arts.

You’ll be communicating with existing Youth Program partners, and reaching out to new ones, to confirm participation in our free youth events. This includes communication by phone or email, and tracking responses and attendance at events. You should have good attention to detail and be comfortable reaching out to people - as well as enjoying working with youth!

INFORMATION FOR ALL POSITIONS

Role Requirements:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good computer skills with experience in MS Word/Excel or Google Docs/G-Suite - or willingness to learn.

  • Great organization, attention to tracking data & details, and multi-tasking skills.

  • An active passion for the environment!

Schedule:

We expect a minimum of 8 - 16 hours per week (one to two days per week) for at least 12 weeks. We can be flexible with the commitment if necessary.

Location:

You will be based in our office at the Ninth Street Independent Film Center on 9th St at Mission. We are near Civic Center BART and Market Street MUNI. There is a small stipend available to cover the costs of local travel.
