Fundraising and Event Management Internship
We are now seeking applications for an Internship position to start in September 2019 at Pachamama Alliance in the Development Department. This is an exceptional organization with friendly, supportive and committed people whose personal values match that of the Pachamama Alliance mission. This position is for September through early December 2019.
Fundraising is a critical function for every non-profit and our internships are a great way to gain experience in the field. This unpaid internship is an opportunity to learn the infrastructure of fundraising as we enter our most active fundraising time of the year and gear up for our Annual Fundraising Luncheons and year-end fundraiser. The Intern will learn about planning and production for our major fundraising events, and learn about our fundraising model. Our Interns in this program area receive training on how we raise money, our giving programs, how we cultivate donors and maintain our relationships with them as well as how we use Salesforce to track donations and participation in our programs. You will work with our highly effective, motivated, and skilled Development Team. You may also engage in a variety of other tasks that support the Development Department.

Responsibilities
Assist in a variety of production details for several key fundraising events: our Annual Luncheon in San Francisco (1000 people) and New York (400 people); our major donor dinner; a special evening discussion with our indigenous partners; and others as they are planned
Assist in coordinating the production of printed materials
Help in writing informational emails for key Table Captain volunteers
Tracking our “Table Captain” volunteers as they commit to filling our event
Assist as needed with various spreadsheets and invitation lists
Pack up materials for shipping
Write various emails to confirm participation in events, as needed
Details
Interns are expected to commit to 15 to 20 hours per week for 3 to 4 months
This is an unpaid internship
The work will take place during regular business hours here in our Presidio office in San Francisco. And please note that this internship is not limited to students!
Interns must be comfortable using apple computers and be proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Office. You will be trained in other applications such as Salesforce.
A great attitude, flexibility, being organized, and a friendly phone manner are requested!
Previous event experience is a plus but not necessary.
The right candidates are enthusiastic, dependable, resourceful, detail-oriented, and exhibit great communication skills.
