Our Mission
Through transformative youth development services rooted in the cultural and artistic traditions of our
communities, we accompany youth and their families on their path to realize their full potential as powerful and
healthy members of society. Our programs include tutoring, before and after school academic enrichment, summer programs, social/emotional support, sports, youth workforce, parent leadership development and organizing, and Afro-Latino arts education and performance.

As of July 1st, 2018, the Jamestown Community Center and Loco Bloco have formally merged. Both youth
development organizations have long established track records of providing enriching, high quality
programming to youth to promote their healthy transition into adulthood. We chose to merge because of our
shared commitment to youth development, our shared love for the Mission community, and our shared
experience in developing leadership among low income youth and families.

The excellence Loco Bloco brings to arts programming and performance, and the expertise Jamestown brings to
academic enrichment and youth development, coupled with our long history of mutual collaboration will lead to
a better, stronger, more efficient and sustainable organization. At the same time, the displacement and
gentrification pressure our communities are now facing necessitate bold solutions like this one, which will allow
us to provide deeper and more comprehensive services more efficiently. We are stronger together.

their own sewing equipment, cutting tools, iron etc. Seamstresses will be responsible for the following:
