Making the Band was an MTV cultural phenomenon that changed the face of reality television by bringing together diverse talent on a global scale, while being mentored by legendary artist and mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs. Making The Band is back and ready to usher in a new era of young, successful stars. Diddy is searching for multi-talented performers who can sing, dance and rap. If you think you’ve got what it takes to impress the hardest working man in show business, submit your best material now!

MTV and the Producers of Making the Band are still looking for the best undiscovered talent in America, but we’re sad to say that all in person auditions that were previously scheduled to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina at Booth Playhouse on March 13-14, 2020, and New York, New York at the MTV Studio on March 21-22, 2020, are being cancelled due to health and safety concerns related to the Coronavirus Disease (aka “COVID-19”).

We are sure you’ve been seeing a lot of developing information about COVID-19 lately, just like we have, and your health and safety, and the health and safety of our cast and crew is important to us. So, like many previously scheduled large scale public events, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all public auditions.


But don’t worry – we’re still Making the Band! The MTB Casting Site is still accepting Video Submissions HERE! If you meet the eligibility requirements, show us what you got – your audition might just be heard by legendary artist and mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
