Intern for Independent Documentary
Documentary director/editor seeks part-time intern interested in a career in documentary filmmaking.
This position is suited for a creative, hard-working, detail-oriented individual with a passion for documentary film. Ideally a student or recent college graduate. The intern will work primarily with the film’s director/editor, approximately 5-10 hours/wk, and receive a $250 stipend.
You will get hands-on experience in the post-production process of an independent feature documentary film. Responsibilities will include transcribing interviews, selecting footage, mixing audio, and more. No editing experience necessary - if you have the passion for filmmaking/editing, we will train you on the software.
"Red Heaven" follows six people who are pushed to their psychological limits when they live for a year in a NASA simulation of the first human outpost on Mars. The film explores the human experience of space exploration and asks how a future of space travel will impact the human mind.
