EVENT TECHNICIAN

Department: Events Management 
Reports To: Events Director and assigned Event Manager 
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and operation of FMCAC event spaces,ensuring that event spaces are cleaned and correctly set up between each event

  • Providing on-site assistance and troubleshooting for custodial, audio-visual, IT and other requests

  • Providing access to and securing FMCAC spaces

  • Placing outdoor signage and hanging banners/signs for FMCAC events

  • Supporting maintenance staff when the need arises

  • Interacting effectively with vendors, contractors, and service providers

  • Completing maintenance, A.V., janitorial or other projects as assigned by management

  • Effectively communicating client needs & issues to FMCAC Management

  • Paying special attention to detail and safety in the workplace

  • Responding proactively to campus-wide event changes, requests, problems, and emergencies

  • Representing FMCAC to clients and visitors, using good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Understanding floor plans created by events associates and guaranteeing proper set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other rented resources

  • Answer and route all incoming telephone calls

  • Providing proper inventory management, including keeping accurate counts, ensuring repair of broken items, ordering and replacing as necessary

  • Other duties may be assigned

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Ability to climb and work safely at various heights utilizing ladders, scaffolds, catwalks, and scissor lifts

  2. Possession of basic computer skills


Attractive Qualifications include:

  1. Basic theatrical technical skills, involving audio, lighting, and electrical

  2. Understanding of audio visual systems, including projection, display, etc.

  3. IT & networking skills to troubleshoot and improve FMCAC's infrastructure.

  4. Forklift and/or aerial lift familiarity


Physical Demands:

Demonstrated ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds safelyThis is an on-call or part-time position
