Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Open Call (non-AEA)
Custom Made Theatre Co. (CMTC) is holding a non-AEA open call audition for all adult roles in our 2019 Season Opening production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Michael Friedman and Alex Timbers). (Children interested in Lyncoya may submit HS/Resume to gross@custommade.org. This role is intended for a child of color.)
Directed by CMTC Artistic Director, Brian Katz. Music Direction by Armando Fox.
Most roles are open to actors of all ethnicities and physical capabilities. CMTC is committed to color and gender conscious casting and seeks actors of diverse backgrounds and physicalities. We are especially interested in actors with Native American heritage for this production as well as actors with disabilities.

Auditions will take place at the following times:
Monday, May 06; 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Tuesday, May 07; 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Please prepare both of the following for the audition:
16 - 32 bars of something up-tempo that is closer to the rock-opera or pop-opera side of theater than to Rodgers & Hammerstein
16 - 32 bars of a ballad from either pop or theatre.

Hold the date: A callback is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, May 08.
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will begin rehearsals August 12, 2019. Performances begin September 26, 2019 and can extend as far as October 27, 2019. Performances will run Wednesday through Saturday.

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is an emo-punk rock musical that asks the question: is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he’s a genocidal maniac? What if he's really, really hot?
Creators Michael Friedman (Love's Labour's Lost, The Fortress of Solitude) and Alex Timbers (Love's Labour's Lost, Peter and the Starcatcher), cook up an alternate universe by telling the story of our controversial 7th president with parallels to today's political/populist landscape.
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson might not have foretold the coming of the Trump administration by presenting the racist, demagogue, foul-mouthed Jackson as a metaphor for our times, but who’s to say it didn’t?
